Please don’t feed migratory water fowl.
Did you know that one goose contributes one gallon of poop each day to our lake? Geese and ducks live here throughout the year, rather than migrating as they should….because they are hand fed. This creates poop in the lake, on docks and patios.
Clean up after your pets
Take a plastic bag with you as you walk your dog on a leash. When walking scoop it, bag it, and trash it. Never flush or compost it. Pick it up from your lawn and property and dispose in the same manner. Dog poop on lawns just doesn’t
disappear or become fertilizer. The bacteria in pet waste can make our water unsafe.
If you must use a fertilizer, use a no-phosphate, slow release lawn fertilizer
Mulch grass clippings back into your lawn, compost them, or dispose of them in the landfill.
Please don't throw clippings and yard waste into the lake.
Maintain your Septic System
Have your tank pumped and inspected by a certified professional. Please make sure your septic systems are not polluting the lake. Click here to review the community driven plan for 100% Onsite Septic System testing.
Consider the impact of Fireworks
Fireworks are composed of many different elements, each contributing to the noise, color or propellant. While these ingredients combine to form a beautiful spectacle, many of them pollute the lake. Click here for more details.
